Emmy Nods

OK.  I’m a TV freak.  Let’s just say it’s been a challenge not to have my shows on this summer.  I miss me some LOST something fierce.

So imagine my happy, smiling face when I saw this morning that Michael Emerson and Terry O’Quinn were nominated for Best Supp Actors for LOST.  My personal pick would be Emerson simply because he made Ben the most haunting, eery, exciting character I’ve ever seen on TV.  When he was on screen, you paid attention and were mesmerized.  I really hope he gets it.  I’ve been saying all season that he’d better get a nomination, and now that it’s here, may the ball keep rolling.

Now, as for LOST not getting nominated for best drama.  WHAT IN THE WORLD?  Are they NUTS?  C’mon people, there has NEVER been a better show.  Ever.  I mean it.  Poo.

YAY for all THE OFFICE noms!  Go Pam!

Since we’re talking TV, here are the shows I’ve been enjoying this summer.  (they are few as there’s not much on, ya know?)

BEST show of the summer: Vh1’s World Series of Pop Culture.  Now here’s a fun show!  DANG that it ends Friday.  It’s fun to have a show that makes you dig so far back into your pop culture references that it makes your head hurt! (My specialty categories are movies and TV.  If it’s a music category, I don’t do well.  At all.)

My yearly crack-up/standby show: Last Comic Standing.  I know it’s not rocket science, but I end up laughing out loud every episode.

Newest indulgenceSo You Think You Can Dance.  Holy cow!  I was skimming channels last week in hopes of finding SOMETHING to watch, and whammo, I came across Pasha and Sarah dancing, my jaw dropped, and I realized I was missing out on a good show!  So I watched last night, and I have to say, it’s FUN!  I’m no dancer (ha!), but I was glued to the set!  Go team Pasha!  And could someone get my legs to look like Sabra’s?  Please?

OK. Don’t even get me started on the new Fall line-up (we’ll chat about that later).  I’m salivating!  One quick note, doesn’t CHUCK (nbc) look great??????  Those commercials are AWESOME!

Happy TV’ing.

Trying Something New

So I just found this helpful blog doohickey  (Windows Live Writer) – and I need all the blog help I can get, so let’s take her for a spin.

Can I post a picture easily?

val-mustang...

The answer is YES.  That was a breeze!

Alrighty then.

By the way, that’s my layout for the weekend with a pic of my cute daughter-in-law (before she was my D-I-L).

We saw Incubus in Berkeley last night – OH MAN THEY ARE SOOOO GOOD and we had a blast.

And Eric and Jeff and Annie and cousin Eryka are out playing with the new Wii we got.  I have a feeling they’ll be up til the crack of dawn, maybe longer.  All the more computer time for me!

The Saga Continues, and a layout

remember-this.jpgAfter weeks and months of preparing to move to Utah, we aren’t moving anymore.  I won’t go into details, we’re just postponing for a little while (gadzzzzz… I hope it’s just a little while!)  It will be a thrilling week of UN-packing boxes.  Oy vey.

On the bright side, I now have some scrapping time (which has been rare lately).  I haven’t had ANY scrapping mojo at all lately, so I decided to start with a super simple page.  I was happy to find a freebie kit from Ronna Penner called EXPRESS YOURSELF that had a darling word-art sentiment, and I knew just what to do! – and YAY – I did my first page of Matt and Val’s wedding!  YAY!

Happy 4th!

It’s been a weird 4th of July…..  we spent the day scrubbing the dickens out of our house instead of BBQ’ing, swimming, kicking back, or watching fireworks.  Our house will have a FOR SALE sign in front of it in about 10 days, and we still have lots to do.  We have professional help coming in next week (thank heavens) to do a major cleaning on the main parts of the house (bathrooms and kitchen mostly) and to do window gutters, etc.  For this I am grateful.  Just knowing I have to keep packing is ENOUGH!

Jeff had work, and Annie’s in Utah at EFY, so it was just Eric and me here working all day.  I’m hoping my next 4th of July will include a BBQ and a family gathering instead of me cleaning out the fridge, scrubbing window-sills and vacuuming all the blinds.  Blech.
