Major Catch-Up

Welcome to the whirlwind that my May has been – - although it’s been a delightful whirlwind!

Of course, and most importantly, my oldest baby was married to his sweet bride Val, and they are blissfully happy and settling into their apartment in Provo, Utah.  The wedding was May 19th, and everything was perfect right down to the tiniest detail! Rings

We came home from Portland and I cleaned for a week awaiting company and prepared for the reception here in California.  That was held on the 25th at a local hotel – - another fantastic reception!

I think my head would explode if I tried to write about all of it – but I just have to say that it is so rewarding to see your child grow up into this amazing person, then watch him become a sweet husband who treats his wife with adoration and kindness and respect.  Wow.

Jeff and Annie were gorgeous as Best Man and Bridesmaid!

On a completely different note, how AWESOME was the LOST season finale?  Gadz, my heart was pounding the entire time.  In case you hadn’t heard, I am completely smitten with this show, and will discuss it at length to the extent you’ll wish you hadn’t brought it up.  You’ve been warned.  Poo that we have to wait til Feb ‘08 for new episodes.  TV just won’t be the same til then.  Sigh.

In other news, we’ll be moving to Utah by August.  More house hunting trips are in the works.  We know one that we want, but the company that owns it simply MUST lower the price by at least $100,000 before we’ll even consider it.  They have it overwhelmingly overpriced at the moment, but we understand why – the house is pretty much perfection, and I would LOVE to live in it!  Eric is busy with plans and preparations for the treatment facility school that he and his brother and another doctor are opening in Ogden.  He’s so excited for a career change, one that will bring about positive changes in the lives of these kids!

Jeff finished his latest semester at college – it was a very busy semester with tons of writing involved.  He deserves a break!  And Annie has just a few days left of school.  I cannot wait for summer vacation!!!!  Granted, it will be insanely busy with packing and cleaning and moving, but at least we don’t have to drop Annie off at school every morning!

I’ll be quiet now.  And I’ll post some pics.

Have a fabulous Wednesday (even if LOST isn’t on).

Utah Trip

Eric, Annie and I flew out to Utah for the weekend.  We went to visit with Matt and Val before their wedding (which is in 11 days for pete’s sake!!!!), and to see tons of family, and to look for possible houses in case we move out there this summer (which is really looking like it’s going to happen).

Those that know me know that I am a total smother mother, the type that just adores her babies and misses them tons even when they’re just at school for the day….. so you can imagine what a KNOCK MY SOCKS OFF moment it was when my Matthew came around the corner when he picked us up at the airport.  OH GOSH – I just love that kid and I pretty much melted when I first saw him.  He is so missed around here!  He and Val are so happy, it just makes me giddy!

WOW – we found one house that was IN-CRED-IBLE.  The real estate agents didn’t have the listing for it, but we went in anyways — everything about it was perfection, until the agent looked it up online and discovered they were wanting about $150,000 more than we were planning on spending.  We’ll see what we can do about talking the price down, but I won’t get my hopes up too high!

Even though I was traveling over NSD (National Scrapbook Day), I still managed to find a bunch of online deals for digi scrapping kits – YAY!  (I was really stressing that I was missing out all the good stuff!)  Now to find some scrapping time….

I’ll share pics from this weekend soon.

Sleep deprived

I am a bad sleeper.  I can’t stay asleep.  It’s a pain.  I sleep poorly whether I take a sleep aid or not.

I guess I have a little too much on my mind for the month of May, huh?   Crazy

I’m hoping that tonight I can sleep well since today I took care of some of the wedding “TO DO list”, so I don’t have as many issues to go over in my head while I’m trying to sleep tonight!  Wish me luck.   Pillow

And DANG – wasn’t LOST amazing last night!  (just realized that watching LOST before bed is probably not a good idea as I can’t stop thinking about it).  It’s only the greatest show EVER written.
